A new book by Abby Truitt, Carol Vaziri, and Amanda Gross Tuft
Author and Stylist
Abby is a mother of two, teacher, visual stylist, designer, and lover of vibrant colors and subtle details. I created the book I wish I had growing up when I wanted to learn all about sewing and fashion design.
I want to inspire all children to love the feel of fabric, the shimmer of a button, and the hum of a sewing machine.
Photography
Carol is a San Francisco-based photographer specializing in lifestyle work, encompassing everything from commercial and editorial projects to portraits and interiors.
Most importantly she is an active mother of three with a join-the-fun attitude toward childhood play and discovery.
Layout and Typography
Amanda has been working in the creative field as a designer and photographer for over 20 years. She works with a range of clients in the technology, entertainment, and lifestyle fields.
She currently lives in San Francisco wth her husband, two children, and a perpetually overflowing art closet.
This book stitches together all things fabric, ribbons, and lace that I loved as a child with the knowledge and wisdom I acquired as an adult.
It inspires girls and boys as our young seamstress creates a dress from drawing to sewing. Woven through her journey are facts about fibers, fabrics, tools, and sewing techniques. The vibrant colors and intricate images in the book are eye-candy for all to enjoy.
It's only one in a series of planned books on cooking, jewelry making, fiber arts, photography, and more. How-to books with supporting products and services are a distinct possibility too. ~ Abby
